Driven by global carbon neutrality goals, the automotive filter industry is accelerating its transformation towards environmental protection and sustainability. The European Union's 2025 implementation of the vehicle life cycle assessment system requires the proportion of recyclable materials in filters to be increased to 45%. Many countries have incorporated in-vehicle air quality into the vehicle certification system, prompting the widespread use of activated carbon chemical filters with low volatile organic compounds (VOC). The production cost of degradable filter housings has decreased by 31% compared to 2023, making eco-friendly filters more competitive in the market. The investment in R&D of bio-based materials has increased by 62%, and the adoption rate of eco-friendly filters has risen by 42% globally. Manufacturers are actively exploring sustainable solutions throughout the entire product life cycle, from the selection of renewable raw materials to the improvement of product recyclability, to respond to environmental regulations and market demand for green products.
