Global tightening of carbon emission regulations is forcing a comprehensive upgrade of automotive filter performance. The European Union's new emission standards implemented in 2025 have increased the particulate trapping efficiency threshold to 98.5%, while the amendment to the U.S. Clean Air Act requires all new vehicles to be equipped with real-time filter efficiency monitoring systems starting from 2026. In emerging markets, the implementation of India's Bharat stage emission standards has accelerated the upgrading of commercial vehicle filter systems, releasing a market space of $8.3 billion in replacement demand between 2024 and 2025. For diesel vehicles, the demand for diesel particulate filters (DPF) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system supporting filters has surged by 55% due to the implementation of strict emission standards. These regulatory requirements have promoted the transformation of the filter industry from passive compliance to active innovation, driving continuous improvements in product filtration accuracy, durability, and environmental performance.
